Tough conditions for the away match on the grit pitch in Dungarvan, with our girls coming away losing 1:0.

Limerick started well with an evenly matched first quarter, but the unpredictable surface hampered their game and the home team's direct hitting approach put us under pressure.

An early attack saw Edie go for the reverse hit but caught a defender and the chance went by.

Limerick defended well with Roisin in goal pulling off all manner of impressive saves, but Dungarvan converted a short corner with a clean strike.

The girls showed adaptability and their outletting techniques enabled them to get on the front foot and create chances of their own but couldn't convert.

The effort and commitment was superb from the whole team right to the end. Ruth and Ruby impressed in defense, with Alex organising things, and also Eabha and all the midfield led by Ailbhe.

Great team day out. Thanks to all the parents making the trip.
