Exciting match yesterday for senior 2 against Dungarvan.
Dominated possession and attacking throughout but were caught out a few times by the Dungarvan counter attack. Despite being on top went 1-0 down, but the pressure told with Limerick scoring 2 in quick succession. One a nice deflection which looped over the keeper but needed finishing from close range, and the second a lovely flowing attack cut back which Pavlina cooly slotted home.
But Dungarvan defended well and levelled. Then a tense end to the match where Dungarvan got in front, and despite excellent attacking play and short corners Limerick couldn’t convert.
Hard luck ... Limerick created lots of chances and deserved at least a draw but will take a lot from the performance.
Standouts today were Hannah in midfield for effort and performance , along with Ruth in defence, Sadhbh in attack and a super goal from Pavlina.
Great team performance, the training, teamwork and effort paying off.
