Limerick Hockey Club is a vibrant and exciting hockey club with a number of Senior and U18 teams playing in the Munster competition leagues.
If you are interested in coaching one of our senior teams for the 2025/2026 season we are inviting applications.
Coaches will be responsible for developing players, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment, and promoting the growth of hockey in our club.
We have the following teams:
- Senior Ladies 1st team
- Senior Ladies 2nd team
- Senior Mens 1st team
- U18 Girls teams
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high quality, intensive training sessions which focus on player development, team development and inclusivity.
- Deliver training sessions on a cadence as directed by the club (typically two sessions per week) for the duration of the season.
- Attend all fixtures
- Select teams for matches in all relevant competitions
- Senior and U18 Coaches will work closely alongside other coaches, as well as other club personnel, so good communication skills as well as a willingness to work collaboratively, are vital
- Support the integration of our junior players into the senior training/playing environment and development of all players
- Support retention and return of Senior Players to the club
- Analyse performances and offer regular feedback to individuals and the squad.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes fun, development, teamwork, and mutual respect among players, and aligns to the Limerick Hockey Club Club and Coaching Philosophy.
- Open to continuous improvement
- Season September through April
Experience:
- Coaching experience preferably in a club or competitive environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
Required:
- Fully paid member of the club
- Successfully completed Garda Vetting;
- Complete a Safeguarding 1 Workshop (Required for all coaches);
- Abide by Hockey Ireland Code of Conduct
- Abide by LHC Code of Conduct
- Adopt LHC Coaching Guidelines
