Amidst a carnival atmosphere in Limerick Lawn tennis club yesterday evening, the Limerick Hockey Club (Villiers) were crowned Hip/Hop league champions for 2023.

Special spot awards were given to Áine Talbot for the greatest number of goals scored in a game; Team Players of the Year were awarded to Veronika Gerke and Olivia Slevin for all that epitomises team spirit. Most improved players were jointly awarded to Kerry Nolan for her doggedness in attack and defence and to Alex Murphy for her skill and hard work on the hockey pitch.

Huge credit has to be given to our coaches, Austin, Brian and more recently Derval for being instrumental in their successes. We remember also Michael Quilligan, Lisa Wallace and Pat Madigan for nurturing this talent at underage.

Thanks to our chief photographer Isabel Slevin for capturing the magic moments and to Siobhan Talbot for organising such a sociable evening to top off a great year in Limerick hockey.
